Itinerary
Day 1: Arrive in Fez
We meet at the airport and go to our Riad.
Day 2: Guided tour in Fez:
After breakfast in your riad, you will start to explore the oldest city in Morocco, walking in its alleyways and small streets. Our visit begins by visiting the gate of the Royal Palace, the Jewish barracks, the first Mellah ever built in Morocco, built during the 16th century. We will make sure that you visit all the sites with cultural and historical interest, including the famous Al Qaraouine University, the oldest in the region, the tanneries, the Attarine museum and the Mulay Idriss mausoleum. After lunch, you will visit the tile cooperative and then experience a wonderful panoramic view of the entire Medina of Fez Riad accommodation.
Day 3: Fes – Ifrane – Merzouga :
After breakfast, departure to the Middle Atlas Mountains. We stop in the charming city of Ifrane, also called as the Switzerland of Morocco. We cross the great cedar forests. Further south, we will pass the High Atlas mountains, we will arrive at Errachidia, where the first great palm trip appears. These create an oasis of vegetation ideal for growing all kinds of fruit trees and microclimate vegetables. We arrive at Erfoud, the economic capital of the Tafilalet region. In this area, fossils abound testified past covered by the sea. From here the asphalt disappears, Sahara tracks adobe to reach the town of Merzouga. Dinner and accommodation at the hotel.
Day 4: Merzouga – Nomads – Erg Chebbi :
Today we explore Erg Chebbi more deeply. We visit the town of Khamlia, we discover small villages and houses inhabited in unexpected places, far from civilization. We also visit nomads who are there and we will take you with them at night and leave the 4×4 camel ride to spend the night in the desert under the sky. We will spend the night in nomad tents in the desert.
Day 5: Merzouga – Todra Gorges – Dades Valley – Ouarzazate :
After breakfast, departure to Risani, old Sijilmassa, supply center for the old caravans of the Sahara. We continue our journey through a semi-desert landscape, we arrive at the Tinghir oasis - possibly one of the most beautiful places in Morocco. Next we pass the Todra river, impressive gorges to reach more than 300 m. We visit the town, we take the road of a thousand kasbahs to Ouarzazate, to reach one of the most important cities in southern Morocco, known for its intense activity and cinematography, having credit for its films such as Gladiator, Troy, the Mummy, etc. Visit of the kasbah of Taurirt. We will enjoy dinner and spend the night at the hotel.
Day 6: Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou – Telouet – Marrakech :
After breakfast, we take the road in the direction of Ait Ben Haddou, the queen of kasbahs (Unesco World Heritage). Later we will visit one of the most beautiful slopes in Morocco, Kasbah de Telouet, former Glagui palace, Pacha Marrakech. We continue passing through the highest mountain pass in Morocco – Tzin Tichca (2,260 m) to reach the imperial city of Marrakech. We stayed one night in the Riad.
Day 7: The Guided Tour of Marrakech:
After breakfast we spend a full day excursion to visit Marrakech. The stories tell that the city was inhabited by a tribe on the other side of the Atlas, with large quantities of dates, and the bones, born from a palm. Called "the red city" due to the color of its walls and full of gardens, irrigated by underground wells (khettaras), which were built by the Almoravids and Saharan nomads in the 11th century. We will visit Menara, the Casbah, the Saadian Tombs, the Bahia Palace, the Koutoubia, the Majorelle Gardens and souks, are some of the unavoidable visits. A unique experience will be to discover the "Djemaa El Fna" square, where the life and activity of the city is concentrated: dancers, storytellers, jugglers, artisans, merchants and snake charmers. We stay in Marrakech overnight in local Riads.
Day 8: Marrakech – Airport :
Free time until we transfer to the airport before your departure flight and this will be the end of our services.
